One thing Rochester has a lot of is geese. So many, in fact, that there's a restaurant (Canadian Honker) and a baseball team (Rochester Honkers) named for them.

Another weekend...another race

It seemed a bit early in the year to be doing lake swims, but the Minnesotans are gristly. Ian did much better at this race than he did a few weeks ago. He thinks it is because he ate two peanut butter and honey and banana sandwiches before the start.

Red Sox 5, Twins 2

It was great to see so many Sox fans at the Metrodome last night. We had seats near the right field foul pole with our friends, Joe and Elizabeth (they moved here from Boston the same weekend last year that we did).I had to pay more attention to the game than usual and not do as much people watching for fear of getting hit with a ball. In fact, I would have probably caught a foul ball had the guy in front of me not put his hand in the way of my glove. The ball bounced off his hand to someone several rows ahead of us. Bummer!
