more backyard fun

Some other critters that sometimes stop by the birdfeeder...

Prairie dogs

Badger

fawns

Bison

Truthfully, these are some pictures that Ian took when we went to the Oxbow park in Byron, MN. They have some really awesome native animals in their natural habitat.

Critters

I found Ian sitting very still and quiet (which doesn't happen all too often) the other day. These are two of the photos he took of our furry backyard friends. They are not shy and will come quite close. The cats love watching them through the sliding door. They've been begging us to let them outside to "play" with them. The squirrel taunts them by coming right up to the screen.

A pretty uneventful weekend

This sequence of pictures illustrates our very exciting weekend back in Minnesota.

...Even the cats were bored. We watched them be bored for a while.

The walk by the river was nice...

Martha Reeves was delightful.

Wicked Good Time in Maine

Long Lake, Bridgton, Maine
June 29 to July 6

We fell asleep each night to the sound of the loons.

We spent a fantastic week at Ian's parents' summer house in Maine. We were lucky to spend time with both of our families, including Ian's Uncle Paul, Aunt Linda, cousin Chris and his wife Cait. We even had a brief visit from Ian's Uncle Butch and cousin Dan, unfortunately spawned by a dislocated hip in one of his crazy races.

The weather was spectacular.

Ian's dad and Aunt Linda, my mom, and me out for a cruise of the lake.

Ian's mom, Uncle Paul, and me on the torpedo.

The Hydrofoil was a new water 'toy' this summer. It was loads of fun...

...and wiping out.

When Paul wiped out, he did it in a big way!

There were a few days that were great for a sail.

Ian was the paparazzi one day, lurking in the woods taking photos of us. The end result was a few photos and LOTS of poison ivy!
