Lutefisk

We went to a lutefisk dinner on Friday night. Lutefisk is cod that has been preserved in lye and then reconstituted by an extensive set of washing steps. The resulting consistency is gelatinous and gross. This is a traditional dish in Norway and Sweden and the tradition has been carried on in Minnesota by people of Norwegian and Swedish descent. Many churches in the area have Lutefisk Dinners, and one of Ian's coworkers is married to a full-blooded Swede. Ian claims to like it, but it is probably not true. Fortunately, the Lutefisk is accompanied by many tasty side dishes like potatoes, squash, Lefsa, cranberries, and desserts.

It was snowing on the way home and Brian and Ian had to push the car out of the parking lot! Winter seems to be here already

I'm with you Cindy, the only way gelatinous is in any way appealing is in a bowl of J E LL O!
