Austria and Switzerland

Here are a few pictures that Ian took when he was in Europe...supposedly for work, but it seemed that he had more fun than his boss realized.

A view from the window of his hotel

He snapped this picture at the end of a day of skiing in several feet of fresh powder. This trail took him literally to the doorstep of his hotel in a tiny village of Schrocken in the Vorarlberg region of the Austrian Alps. "Boondoggles!" some might say, but he did actually learn some new science.

Their group went on a snowshoe adventure one day and a guy had to be airlifted out because he couldn't make the whole trek.

Look closely...there's actually a VW somewhere in that pile of snow!

Nifty window. The 6 buildings in the village were really old.

An extra day layover in Switzerland afforded him some time to wander the streets of Zurich.
